On Saturday 25 May 2024, the exhibition ‘Mauro Sabbione: narratives in the space-time of music’, dedicated to the memory of the musician and composer of Matia Bazar at the time of ‘Vacanze Romane’, opens to the public at the All About Apple Museum in Savona. On display is the famous digital synthesiser ‘Alpha Syntauri’, with props and personal belongings of the artist, through a historical and interactive path, with the possibility of using the keyboard and the computer connected to it, as is the philosophy of the Museum. Known on the occasion of the inauguration of the public headquarters of the Museum, Mauro gave the Museum a unique concert, using his famous ‘Alpha Syntauri’ keyboard restored for the occasion by Museum staff members.
Sabbione left us suddenly a little over a year ago, but the symbolic link with the museum has remained very strong, and we are happy to announce a series of initiatives to remember him and to carry his musical message through time, including through actual performances.
The first of these just took place on 21 April at the Teatro Sacco in Savona. Numerous artists who shared their professional activity with Mauro took part, and they performed musical pieces by Matia Bazar, once again bringing to the stage the Alpha Syntauri keyboard and the Apple II computer that runs it. The result was a memorable show of the highest standard, which you can see on our YouTube channel.
